Work Migration Abroad – Brain Drain for higher salary

Paylab has launched the results of international survey Work Migration Abroad about willingness of employees from Central and Eastern Europe working abroad.  According to the survey, 28% of employees in the CEE region would be willing to work abroad for a shorter time, i.e. several weeks or months. But almost a fifth (19%) said they would be willing to stay and work abroad for even more than one year. The biggest driving force is higher salary, which is the most important motivator for labour migration.

Applicants often don’t know, or have distorted imaginations about real salary range on a position they are applying for. Paylab tried to find out whether HR professionals have a good estimate for salaries. The fact is that “salary vision versus reality” is a challenge not just for applicants but also for HR professionals. We found it out on a special conference HR days, which took place in October 2016 in Prague (Czech Republic), and was a part of the biggest Czech job expo – Profesia Days 2016 Prague.
